It has officially been a month since the Adored Vintage team has grown from two people to four! I am a bit in disbelief that this little hobby I started out of my living room is now a growing company with employees on payroll. I feel fancy.
Anyhow, I digress... today I am so pleased to introduce you to Andrea "Andy", a fellow Hufflepuff like myself, and probably the only other person I've met who loves the movie Practical Magic as much as I do. Andy prettily packages your orders, corresponds with you through e-mail, and also assists in photography for social media content and managing our inventory.
We asked Andy a few question so you can get to know her better!
1. If you could have 24 hours to spend with any person, dead or alive, who would you spend the day with and what are you doing?
I would spend the afternoon drinking tea with my great-great-grandmother. She was an incredible woman who traveled from the Ukraine to North America in the early 1900’s with her beloved husband. After I listened to her life story we would make traditional Ukrainian dishes including my favorite meal which is pierogies filled with mashed potatoes, quark, and fried onion. Yum! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!
2. What brings you joy?
One of the many things that Julie Andrews taught me in The Sound of Music is that joy comes from ordinary moments. On the top of my list of “favorite things” is the smell of puppy breath, shortbread cookies, train rides, forehead kisses, and of course, finding the perfect vintage dress!
3. Which Hogwarts house would you be sorted into?
Ah, this is a question I have considered every since I was a little girl. I am proud to say that if I was to attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry I would be sorted into Hufflepuff. Their hard work, dedication, patience, and loyalty are all qualities that I admire. I also can't imagine how wonderful it would be to sit in the Hufflepuff common room after a long day of studying and be surrounded by plants and natural light.
4. Which pieces in the shop are your favorites?
5. Describe your personal style, what are your signature pieces?
I wouldn’t be an AV Gal if I didn’t love feminine and vintage garments! However, I normally gravitate towards items with simple patterns and neutral colors. By doing this I can easily layer and style outfits. For example, I’m almost always wearing a pair of thin gold hoop earrings. They are small, delicate, and the perfect addition to any outfit.
6. What 5 things would someone always find in your handbag?
Self-care means that you are not only paying attention to your mental health, but also making sure that your body is fully nourished and hydrated. With this in mind, I make sure that my handbag always includes a snack, water bottle, and my homemade coconut oil lotion. I also take with me on outings a pocket journal for doodles and to-do lists and my sheer matte lipstick from Glossier! The shade Cake is the perfect neutral lip.
