One of the newest members to the Adored Vintage family is Nora and we are so pleased to introduce you to her! Nora has such an ease and good naturedness about her and radiates positive energy that we've really loved having her on our team.
Nora is one of our customer care advocates, prettily packages up your orders, and also helps out with inventory and merchandising at our petite shop Adored Vintage Mercantile inside Urbanite here in Portland.
We asked Nora a couple of questions so we could all get to know her a bit better...
If you could live in any era, which era would you choose to live in and why?
This question was the hardest for me to answer. Part of me feels strongly tied to the 60s and 70s. However, I also feel quite drawn to the renaissance period… I think I just want to be a time traveler. I wish to experience every era!
What colors, shapes, and textures do you love to surround yourself with?
Lately, I find myself gravitating towards neutral earthy colors with subtle highlights of mustard yellow or ripe peaches. Similarly, I tend to choose equally as soft shapes such as circles, or squares with rounded corners, basically anything that flows and has no rigid edges. As far as textures go, someone can always find a plethora of soft cozy blankets within arm’s reach at my house. I’m also beginning to collect a hearty amount of linen in my closet.
What would you tell your 13 year old self about life thus far?
I would tell my 13 year old self that vulnerability and compassion are two of the most beautiful qualities a person can have. These qualities have the power to allow a person to discover who they are, and their purpose, while simultaneously inspiring others to do the same.
Which pieces in the shop are your favorites?
Right now, I am in love with the Rue de la Vie Jumpsuit because it’s extremely versatile. I can imagine wearing the Rue de la Vie Jumpsuit for a walk along the river during a warm breezy summer day, then easily transitioning to an evening at an outdoor restaurant with friends.
Describe your personal style, what are your signature pieces?
I would describe my style as a well-balanced mix of eclectic vintage with a subtle hint of inspiration from the 70s and an overtone of honeyed, soft, earthy colors. My favorite go-to pair of bottoms are vintage high-rise bell bottoms that I found at a vintage store here in Portland. Whenever I don’t know what to wear, or am having a hard morning I will put those on and instantly feel ready and motivated for the day.
What 5 things would someone always find in your handbag?
I always always have a few things in my handbag: Burt’s Bees chapstick, lavender essential oil, sunnies, bamboo to-go cutlery, a water bottle, and the latest book I’m reading. Oops that’s six, but I promise they are all essential!
