In Fall of 2020 I started to really take the notion of starting my own clothing line seriously. It had always been something I wanted to try my hands at in the back of my mind, but timing never felt right and of course I had my own personal fears of failure and ineptness. We are finally reopening our studio & showroom and I wanted to share some progress photos and some shopkeeper ponderings about reopening. Dear Friends, Admittedly my head has been in the clouds as of late. My thoughts caught somewhere between dreams and plans, past and present, hopes and reality. It's that season in Portland where the rain is unceasing and it both brings comfort and a longing that ebbs deeper to feel the sun on my skin again. On a quiet rainy afternoon in June, with Nina Simone in the background, I snapped these photos around the Adored Vintage shop and studio. I hugged the Taters. I walked around barefoot. Time has been an interesting companion these past few months. In many ways it seems just like yesterday that I chanced upon the availability of our new shop location (it was in early August) then signed a lengthy lease... and then WHAM BAM WIPPITY WHOA my world kind of turned topsy turvy.
