Did you see that? All was still in the kitchen, filled with morning light, but for one small bloom. A stem of delicate hellebore stood tall in the crystal vase given to her by mother years ago. As hours ticked away, petal by petal floated down to the soft vintage lace of the tablecloth. Poised with drawing pad and pen, Adele mused at the poetry in trying to capture beauty in such a fleeting state. She rested her materials on the table and rose to meet the vase. In one tender movement, she scooped up the petals and held them to the window with her hand....

We are forever inspired by the quiet and landscapes of the countryside. Whether it's in New England, the Midwest, England, or France... there is something so serene about the countryside. A perfect blending of Nature tamed by human hands but not overly tempered. For us the countryside and comforts there is where human nature harmonizes with the natural wild of Mother Earth. Where the land is tilled and harvests are grown and yet no buildings of steel or glass exist. Where animals graze on pastures yet none are held in cages like a zoo. The country is where life slows...

Sometimes I think there is TOO MUCH inspiration available at our fingertips (ahem, Pinterest) so it can get so daunting as to where to begin with anything. I feel like there is so much I want to do, so many places I want to see, so many new recipes to try... so in the end I don't really do much of anything. My inspiration for creating these weekly "Petits Plaisirs" is to have a more focused and intentional inspiration board. Of lovely things and moments that bring a smile on my face and to try not to always look for...
