Early Regency 1796-1798 Floral Embroidered Cotton Gown

My dream history closet includes this early Regency era cotton gown featuring the sweetest all over floral embroidery that gives it a bit of a pastoral folky look. Aren't the pansies so sweet?

Where I'd Wear It Back Then

Probably listening to Marianne practicing on the pianoforte while I worked on my needlepoint

Where I'd Wear It Now

Going on a picnic with friends along a river. I'd be barefoot and would have wild flowers stuck in my hair.

Channel The Look

This antique Regency dress is refreshingly modern. Go for a midi or maxi length dress featuring an all over floral print against a light cream or oatmeal backdrop and a soft squared neckline.
