A Pop-Up Shop is Coming to Adored Vintage!
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
Bonjour mes amis! There are so many new projects I am so looking forward to in 2022 one being a petite pop-up shop inside our old retail location called Milkthistle & Co. This pop-up is a collaboration with Adored Vintage focused on small batch tea, apothecary (mostly from Europe), sundries, plants and flowers and will also feature a small DIY apothecary bar so you and yours can handcraft your own herbal and floral bath potions. As you know, or perhaps not, we closed our retail location for Adored Vintage back in October of 2020 and moved it inside Urbanite just up...

Charity Sale Updates & Delayed Reopening
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
Bonjour friends! This isn't quite a Shopkeeper Pondering, but I wanted to update y'all on a couple of going ons behind the scenes of Adored Vintage including updates from our Q2 and Q3 charity sales and why we've delayed reopening our studio to the public. CHARITY SALE For a couple of years now we have been selling As-Is modern clothing and donating 100% of the profits towards a charity. We choose a new charity every quarter and this last quarter (July to October 2021) we decided to donate the proceeds from our As-Is Sales to One Tree Planted, where they plant...

Shop News: New Site & Shop Updates
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
For the past month I've been working on an updated version of our website that will have a couple new features I'm quite excited about most notably our new returns portal! CHANGES TO OUR RETURN POLICY & OUR UPCOMING AUTOMATED RETURNS PORTAL When Adored Vintage pivoted in the summer of 2018 to focus on selling mostly modern vintage inspired clothing, I didn't think my shop would grow this quickly! Since March of this year we've been averaging 750+ orders monthly and I knew the systems and processes I had set for Adored Vintage were going to have to change and adapt as we continued to...

Fashion Glossary: Vintage & Modern Lingerie
Posted by AV DEVON
(featured photo should be overall lingerie photo) Vintage and Modern Lingerie: An Intro Lingerie, or underpinnings, have been an important part of dressing for centuries as a way to shape and support the body. It has evolved as often as the clothes worn over them, yet some of the terms used in previous eras have fallen out of style. Thus, we'd like to share some terms used to describe different types of lingerie that make the rounds in our shop as well as closets. Below you'll find a list of terms used to describe different types of lingerie and lounge...

Outfits For Kindred Spirits

It has been such a wonderful journey so far selecting vintage inspired modern clothing for the shop that is in alignment with the feminine and romantic sensibilities of the Adored Vintage girl. The Adored Vintage girl is a romantic. She's feminine. She's nostalgic. She adores soft colors, straw hats, wearing white dresses, and basically any outfit straight out of Green Gables. These three looks feature all vintage modern pieces. Curating the dreamy wardrobe of the AV Girl has been SUCH A TREAT! I have to let you gals know that I spend HOURS combing through linesheets from designers to select each...

What She Wore: The 1930s
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
The 1930s is one of my very favorite eras for fashion and I find most of the modern day clothing I gravitate towards tends to have notes and hints from the 1930s fashion era. Above are just some examples of what real women wore in the 30s. Wouldn't you agree that the gal playing the ukulele is wearing an outfit that would not look out of place on today's fashion blogs or fashion instagram stars? From the floral pantsuit to the beret... very modern. Next let's move on to the two gals in the pretty midi length dresses. Notice the...

A Rosy Outlook
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
It was such a pretty and sunny day at the Adored Vintage headquarters today! The sun was streaming in through the windows and casting a pretty light on everything. Days like these makes me pinch myself. I snapped several photos of the workday...well the pretty bits anyway... I doubt you'd think my running back and forth to the hallway sink to refill my steamer with water was pretty... Tomorrow I'm going to be shooting several new vintage and vintage inspired pieces for the shop, so this week's shop arrivals are decidedly very feminine, very romantic, and quite rosy and sweet. Ahh...the beaded...

How to Wear Vintage & Vintage Inspired Clothing
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
I wanted to do a quick blog post on how to wear vintage clothing with modern clothing together so you look feminine, effortless, and timeless! Here at Adored Vintage, I really want women to feel like vintage clothing is something they can easily incorporate into their current wardrobe. In this outfit I am wearing the Endeared Promises vintage inspired top. I love that it's reminiscent of pretty vintage blouses I've had in the shop from the 1930s and 1940s, and even a hint of Edwardian too... mostly because of the lace work. The skirt in this outfit is a vintage...

Giving Back: An Update
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
Good morning lovies! I wanted to do a quick update on my Thanks & Giving Project that I started just a little before Thanksgiving. Every week till the end of the year I'm donating 10% of that week's sales to charity. One of my friends works for the organization Medical Teams International and she will be heading back out to Bangladesh right after Christmas and then staying for nearly a month to help with the Rohingya Refugee crisis in Myanmar. Hearing her stories about being in the refugee camps this past Fall was pretty horrific. There we were bundled up in...

NEW! Delicate, Minimal and Feminine Jewelry!
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
It's been a long time coming, but the Jewelry section of the shop has finally been updated with plenty of delicate, minimal, and feminine vintage inspired jewelry selections! Truthfully I don't personally love a lot of vintage jewelry. Well, let me rephrase that. I don't like chunky, costume-y, novelty-ish vintage jewelry and as soon as you say the words "vintage jewelry" those are usually the styles that come to mind. Not to say ALL vintage jewelry is like this! Actually there are several shop sellers that sell really beautiful vintage and antique jewelry. I think perhaps for me I don't...

Thanks & Giving 2017
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
Last year a friend of ours introduced us to this website called Donors Choose, a website that allows the public to connect to public schools. Teachers can raise money for projects, supplies, trips, etc for their classrooms and schools through this website. Our friend, Mrs. Pfaff, last year was raising money for her 1st grade class for supplies so her kiddos could have hands on experience building and learning more about engineering. Way cool! We were so excited to help out, we ended up donating the remainder of the money they needed so they could meet their goal. It wasn't a lot,...
